SHORT SCOOP:
2+ yrs trading floor support/administration exp using UNIX & related hardware; degreed in CS ideal. Will work with Solaris & Linux; AIX and/or HP exp acceptable alternative.
SUMMARY:
The Jr. UNIX / Trading Administrator diagnoses, documents, supports, and troubleshoots trading applications. He/she fixes reported problems or reassigns/escalates issues to the appropriate party.
RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
* 2 yrs exp trading floor support or working in a market application support environment
* Some understanding of trading terminology to understand reported problems
* Working knowledge of trading applications to recognize and debug common problems
* Good understanding of UNIX or UNIX-like operating systems (AIX, HP-UX, Solaris)
* Knowledge of Windows O/S, Exchange, Active Directory, group policy, domain controllers
* Working knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN and networking protocols/services (NIS, DNS, SMTP, IMAP, JumpStart, KickStart, grub and other boot managers preferred)
* Ability to configure and troubleshoot UNIX systems
* Troubleshoots third-party installed software
* Good understanding of Posix operating systems preferred
* Able to work effectively as part of an integrated team
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
