Ultra Electronics Advanced Tactical Systems - www.snipr.com/ultra-ats - is currently recruiting for a Program Scheduler to join our Program Management organization in Austin, TX.

The Program Scheduler will serve as the primary technical point of contact for scheduling and support to Ultra program managers, project leads, and financial analysts. Will facilitate and coordinate the development and implementation of scheduling procedures and guidelines. Will organize the scheduling efforts, develop and manage the cost/schedule baselines, periodically analyze the schedule data as required, and manage the schedule change control process. Due to security reasons and the nature of our business, the successful candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess a security clearance or have the ability to obtain one.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports the program Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development in accordance with contract Statement of Work (SOW)
• Perform Critical Path Analysis and other scheduling metrics as required
• Coordinate establishment and maintenance of schedule baselines and facilitate development of program Estimates at Completion (EAC)
• Optimize the development of Resource Loaded Networks (RLNs), implement schedule control aspects of Earned Value (EV) methodologies, and oversee performance of related variance analyses
• Provide schedule and RLN support for new task orders which may require projections, requirements analyses, data analyses, and EAC calculations
• Convey and emphasize scheduling performance metrics that support internal analysis
• Lead or participant in master baseline and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) efforts
• Participate in Government reviews such as the Integrated Baseline Review (IBR), compliance and surveillance type reviews
• Interact with finance, contracts and other support functions to maintain data
• Assist in training of PCO staff, CAMs and PMs
• Manage program initiatives to improve cost, schedule, and technical performance
• Meet regularly with PMs and Technical Leads to ensure their program requirements are well understood and satisfied
• Supports PM, project leads, and financial analysts in program establishment and program status


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Requires at least 5 years of related scheduling practice and experience
• Requires at least 2 years of practical experience with the Deltek Open Plan tool
• No specific requirement for higher educational degree


CORE COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
• Knowledge of software development processes and practices as applied to scheduling tasks and related dependencies
• Specialized knowledge of program scheduling theories, principles, and applications; thorough knowledge of schedule techniques and procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to recognize and independently solve difficult scheduling problems involving judgments where the chance for error is high and/or errors could have serious consequences
• Skill in maintaining positive relations with others, both inside and outside the business, and obtaining cooperation; skill in maintaining a high degree of tact and judgment in interactions with others
• Skill in studying, analyzing, and interpreting complex activities and information in order to refine and improve scheduling products
• Skill in understanding and using Earned Value Management as applied through scheduling applications
• Skill in the use of various software programs, including Deltek Open Plan, Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point
