What's the role of a Vanguard Developer?
Vanguard's Developers draw on their broad IT knowledge to provide systems analysis and to design, develop and implement applications and databases for mainframe-, client/server-, Web-, and PC-based systems. You'll serve as the support to the legacy annuity software program and use your developer or systems analyst experience to develop code, write programs, write and implement test plans, and participate in systems analysis activities.

Do I meet the qualifications? The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
- Minimum two years of developer or systems analyst experience.
- Track record of performing moderate or component-level database and data access analysis, design, and implementation.
- Intermediate knowledge of Quality Assurance methodology and inspections, Use case standards, Systems analysis and design techniques, System/subsystem requirements, Libraries, Reusable code and/or Object-oriented standards, and Screen, Report and Query design.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visio.
- Understanding and intermediate knowledge of any relational database and its constructs.
- Knowledge of Unix Shell Scripting, "C", Stored Procedure development, and SQL required.
- Knowledge of and experience with MQ Series, Sybase databases, Mainframe, TSO, JCL, and Control-M is a plus.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analysis, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work on-call as needed.
