We are looking for a system and network professional with knowledge of unix and linux operating systems, and Cisco routers and switches for a client in the New York City area.
Title: Senior Administrator
Location: north Jersey/NYC area
Compensation: Base salary open depending on skill and experience level, we are targeting $110-140,000. Excellent benefits including 5 weeks paid vacation, health and dental insurance, retirement savings plan (401K), flexible spending plan and a casual, supportive, results driven environment. Key player in the deployment, management and maintenance of a high-performance distributed computing environment that is redefining electronic trading.
Required Skills: 4+ years experience in a mission critical production datacenter environment with strong technical, hands-on skills in linux operating systems and Cisco routers and switches. Outstanding troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of datacenter equipment, including UPS, environmental monitoring, physical security. WAN connections including T1, T3, Metro Ethernet, SONET. System backup, email systems, directory services. Wiring and computer rack equipment, including Cat5, fiber optics. Knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, RIP and Multicast. Shell scripting or programming languages. Documentation and asset tracking.
