Gemalto is seeking a experienced Software Engineer to join an extremely team-oriented group. As the Software Engineer your duties will consist of internal/external technical support, Java programming, participation in project planning and architecture discussions. You will be given the opportunity to collaborate on both new ideas and problem solving solutions.
Responsibilities:
- First-level technical support
- Software development and maintenance
- Posix maintenance (Linux/Sun/HP: shell scripts, basic admin, etc)
- Some web-based development (via JSP, AJAX, etc.)
- Learning new skill sets (which could include VPN, SNMP monitoring, any skills listed above that are not already known)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2+ years of Java coding experience
- Unix/Linux basic admin skills
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with customers and working in a team environment
- Experience in any of the following is highly preferred, but not required:
- VPN administration
- Cisco IOS
- SMPP protocol (Short Message Point-to-Point)
- Technical knowledge of smart cards or GSM infrastructure
