Our client seeks an experienced Supply Chain Analyst to join their team. Incumbent will be responsible for extraction, compilation, reporting and analysis of the costs associated with the transportation and warehousing. This includes but is not limited to data extraction from JD Edwards (JDE), Cass data manipulation, reporting of actual cost to accruals, variance calculations and analysis. Provide JDE system support related to EDI transactions and processing, rate and route tables and transportation management.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES -- other duties assigned as required:
? Monthly Cost and Variance Reporting - Extract from JDE monthly freight cost estimates, compare to actual freight costs, and determine variance on accruals. Compare actual costs to budgeted costs and provide analysis of the drivers of the variances. Responsible for the reported transportation spend and reasons for variance to plan.
? Budgeting Process - Based on history, generate rates to be used for annual budgets, and or periodic updates. Extract actual movements from JDE to use as a basis for volume of secondary freight moves, combined with actual costs for transportation spend projections. Utilize production planning forecast information to identify origin & destination points and volumes for primary freight moves.
? Special reporting - Generate reports to determine customer compliance related to delivery expectations. Report accessorial costs, both from a customer trend as well as comparisons between customers. Ad Hoc reporting as required to determine customer profitability and to help support ongoing business decisions.
? Carrier Performance - Develop implement and report on carrier performance. This includes, but is not limited to: On time performance at point of pick up, and on time delivery at point of receipt. Develop reports to show monthly and YTD carrier performance as well as performance of specific customers. Additionally, warehouse allocation compliance reporting, measuring by month, by origin, by destination, carrier activity vs. expectations.
? System Support - Understand the intricacies of the JDE system. Work closely with IT to remedy issues related to the Transportation module. Provide assistance related to annual carrier bid including, extraction of lanes and volumes, bid package preparation support, dissemination of RFI/RFP, compilation of results and additional iterations, spending projections, rate and contract generation, as well as uploading of new rates into JDE and expiration of old rates.
? Sourcing Options - Based on costs, production capabilities and capacity, in conjunction with carrier capacity and costs of warehousing, determine optimal sourcing location for new and existing customers. Make recommendations, based on all inclusive costs, regarding what changes should be made related to customers.
REQUIREMENTS
? General Data cleaning -- ability to find trends, holes, and insights in large and/or fragmented sets of information; should be familiar with concepts to join disparate information into a cohesive form
? Advanced MS Excel skills -- comfort with large data sets as well as developing and understanding complicated/detail models;
? Moderate MS Access database skills -- comfort with developing Queries to extract data from JDE system as well as other Access Applications
? Ability to work with a wide range of people in a team setting
? Sound analytical skills -- ability to not only identify notable items but to also provide insights into root causes
? Excellent oral and written communication skills
? Basic Knowledge of transportation and distribution
? Ability to provide analytical support to other areas
? Familiarity with basic accounting principles
? Strong sense of urgency, self-starter, goal oriented
? Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School degree or equivalent; some college preferred
Experience: Minimum 5 years progressive Transportation, Logistics, Customer Service or equivalent operational experience with strong Analytical flavor.
