DUTIES: You will be responsible for: (1) Acting as a hands on technical manager of IT (Information Technology) operations for this prestigious organization's small and growing IT staff; (2) Providing strategic vision (as a hands on technical manager reporting to the CIO in this small IT staff environment) for the enterprise infrastructure as well as the technology direction across the enterprise; (3) Managing a small staff of technical professionals implementing and supporting the IT infrastructure including help desk, data center, networking, telecommunications, etc.; (4) Developing process and procedures for overall IT operations; (5) Upgrading and maintaining data center operations, change management procedures, production controls, and system backups; (6) Developing work and project plans, resource planning, budgeting, execution, and management for all IT operational and disaster recovery projects; (7) Change request tracking, change request review, change management, and change management approval; (8) Managing enterprise infrastructure development and support to budget, schedule, scope, and quality guidelines for LAN's, WAN's, SAN's, data centers, data storage, telecommunications, etc.; (9) Designing Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and managing service provider relationships including ensuring SLA's are met; , (10) Billing, issue escalation, vendor selection, negotiation, prioritization, and ongoing coordination; (11) Negotiating contracts and managing relationships with service and equipment providers; (12) Hands on technical work where necessary to include levels 1,2, and 3 technical support of PC,LAN,WAN hardware and software to include telecommunications equipment such as mobile computing equipment (i.e. Blackberry, cell phones, notebook computing, etc.); (13) Day to day supervision of infrastructure staff including task assignment, project oversight, staff retention, and employee development; (14) Oversight of a 24x7 datacenter and disaster recovery site/solutions; (15) Establishing standards, processes, and policies for corporate wide infrastructure and operations.

REQUIRED:

MUST, MUST, MUST have an undergraduate degree from an excellent university (University of Illinois, DePaul, Northern Illinois, Loyola, or similar).

Must have at least 10 years work experience in the IT field.

MUST have at least 4 years STRONG/CURRENT IT operations staff supervisory experience while remaining hands on technically with PC, LAN, WAN hardware and software in a MICROSOFT environment including hands on skill with Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policy, WSUS, etc.

MUST have outstanding communication skills, presentation skills, interpersonal skills, relationship building skills.

MUST have excellent proficiency with problem analysis, measurement, and process methodology.

MUST have advanced knowledge of contract negotiation and vendor management.

MUST have strong coaching and mentoring, and STRONG leadership and people management skills.

Pluses: Experience defining, establishing, monitoring, and enforcing SLA's (Service Level Agreements).
