RFID Deployment Engineer
Description
Candidate must be highly motivated, innovative, able to work independently, able to communicate well and work well in a high performance, fast paced, team environment. Candidate will be tasked with deploying Client software and hardware solutions for partners and customers who have engaged the Client professional services organization. Candidate should be able to support connectivity with various hardware devices such as RFID readers, controllers, switches, routers, firewalls, light stacks, motion sensors and the like. Candidate must be familiar with integration technologies including FTP, SFTP, Web Services, HTTP, HTTPS, Message Queuing, and the like. Additionally, candidate should be able to perform hands on training for customers on Client solutions and platform technologies as part of a solution deployment. When candidate is not deploying solutions, candidate will support the solution development process by participating in architecture and design meetings, development meetings, testing meetings and deployment preparation meetings. Candidate may be called upon to support internal testing and technology initiatives.
Up to 75% travel required.
Required General Skills:
• Expertise with various internet protocols including primarily TCP, FTP, SFTP, HTTP, HTTPS
• Understanding of general IT concepts and technologies including IP, routers, firewalls
• Experience with setting up and configuration of Windows XP, 2000, 2003 desktops and servers
• Enterprise software installation and configuration capabilities
• Enterprise Integration protocol familiarity (web services, queuing, other)
• Familiarity with solving computing challenges around scalability, distributed architectures, high volume transaction processing
• Worked on a high performance team in a high-tech startup or startup-like environment.
• Customer orientation
• Verbal and written communications
Additional Bonus Skills:
• Enterprise integration methods and tools (e.g. connecting to large ERP, SCM, CRM, WMS, legacy backend data processing subsystems)
• RFID, Physics, RF
• Network and Server security
• Data backup and disaster recovery
• Handheld & Portable device development using Windows CE, PPC OS & .NET Compact Framework
• Microsoft MOM, SMS, BizTalk
