There is an immediate need and ongoing need for Software Development Engineers in SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

are a “Hardcore” Computer Science “Geek”
can take ownership, initiative, make recommendations, build from scratch
have an entrepreneurial spirit
can think “out-of-the-box”
Client is seeking people well versed in:
OOP/OOD principles
Data structures
Distributed systems principles
Problem Solving Capabilities
Should have a degree(s) in Computer Science/Computer Science and Engineering.
People with degrees in Physics and EE might be OK.
This client builds applications and systems using Core Java OpenSource on Linux and Agile.
Anyone who's experience is only with tools or embedded will not pass.
Anyone with C++ skills is highly desired.
C# engineer/developer could be OK too.
Primary Responsibilities:
Define, design, and implement multi-tier distributed software applications.
Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles.
Must be able to independently design code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes.
Must be able to effectively collaborate in a fast paced environment with multiple teams in a large organization (software development, QA, Project/Release Management, Build and Release, etc).
Provide on-call production support for payment platform applications
Required:
Able to relocate to the Seattle area if not already local
Excellent written and verbal English communications skills
Environment:
Open-source environment, Core Java, Perl, Oracle, MySQL, SCRUM, Linux,
Preferred:
Experience with source code control tools
Experience designing high-performance, scalable architectures
Nice-To-Haves:
Java developer certification
Exposure to design patterns
Experience with J2EE development
Experience developing solutions with messaging products like JMS or ActiveMQ
Experience with Transaction processing, online payments or other related financial services environment
Relocation:
