MERIDIAN Technology Group seeks an Oracle DBA GW7148 with 8 years of Oracle database administration experience. Must have 5 years of database architect and design experience. Must also have 4 years of Oracle 10g experience. 3 years of BMC - SQL Backtrack experience required. 2 years of Oracle 10gRAC and Oracle Grid Control also required. 2 years of Netapp filer highly desired. 1 year of 11g upgrade experience nice to have.
You will manage database design, creation and configuration, space management and other database maintenance and administration procedures in multiple production and development environments. Design and manage backup and recovery procedures. Manage database user and security administration. Handle advanced performance and application tuning for both OLTP and data warehouse. Coordinate research, planning and implementation of databases and application patches and fixes. Plan, design, test and implement upgrades for the databases. Facilitate root cause analysis on problems where appropriate and identify action items/recommendations to address issues. Maintain documentation and coding standards, lessons learned, best practices and quality improvement documentation. Work closely with the development staff on all issues related to the Oracle databases. You will be responsible for 24*7 production support on a rotation basis for all Oracle databases. The right candidate will be self-motivated, methodical, require minimal direction, possess strong communication skills and be a strong team player.
