This is a global leading company, and the role is of great responsibility and has global visibility. The project may be a facelift case for SAP, and the Lead Architect will be a key person who may be quoted for years and cases to come! Direct end client to Elan IT! Current state:
The client has a very successful and well functioning SAP entity supporting their logistics & finance area. The SAP environment has been one of the key success factors of the client's business success during the past years. With their growing business & new businesses establishment, the current one-instance SAP system is no longer a solution they can live with for times to come.
Desired state:
Architecture needs to be developed to meet new business requirements, and to ensure reliable and effective SAP platform. Because of the business criticality of their SAP systems, being the core for the client's business and IT, the SAP architecture renewal needs to be done very, very carefully, and in a very well planned manner. To this development also SAP themselves will be engaged.
High-level responsibilities for SAP renewal Lead Architect:
- Being overall responsible for designing the new SAP Architecture;
- Establishing new ways of managing the SAP architecture, rather from business / process perspective than from the SAP technology perspective;
- Ensuring good integrations with other platforms and to the SAP -related applications;
- Ensuring compliance with the client's enterprise architecture, and acting as a strong contributor to enterprise
architecture development;
- To manage architecture co-operation with SAP, related to the SAP architecture renewal;
- Closely co-operates with the SAP Platform Manager, two already existing SAP Platform Architects, and
relevant part of SAP's development organization.
