Mobile gaming is at the forefront of a fast growing and exciting revolution in interactive entertainment. Tencent Holdings operates a leading mobile gaming services platform and seeks to build relationships with top mobile game developers around the world.
Tencent America, LLC., the US branch of Tencent Holdings, is currently seeking a candidate with professional-level Mandarin Chinese writing, speaking and listening comprehension skills to work on business development for mobile games, directly working with and reporting to senior management. Candidates must demonstrate a strong ability to think independently and strategically and should be highly knowledgeable about the mobile gaming space in the U.S., China as well as globally.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Identify new mobile gaming platforms for potential licensing
• Work closely with the mobile game licensing product evaluation team to confirm the relative attractiveness of the target platform for the China market
• Investigate opportunities to source mobile games at an early stage, including identifying potential investment opportunities in mobile game developers
• Help recruit top talent to grow our mobile gaming team in the U.S. and China
Requirements:
• Must demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in mobile gaming
• Should be keenly aware of the developments in the U.S. and Europe game developer industry and as well as be familiar with the key players
• Need to have the necessary maturity to represent the company in dealing with business partners, and prior experience with business development and contract negotiations
• A minimum of 2 years experience in either the game industry or with business development. People with experience in both of those are strongly encouraged to apply. General work experience of 5 or more years is preferred.
• Must have the desire to grow with our company and thrive in a start-up environment. Candidate must be able to meet opportunities and take on challenges with enthusiasm.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead teams, advocate proposals to senior management, and organize and oversee business initiatives.
• Must exhibit a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, in a team environment, and as part of a quickly growing organization
• Experience in drafting business proposals, project plans, and financial models is preferred.
Education/Training:
• BA/BS from an accredited university is required
• MBA is a plus
Other:
• Must be available to work in Redwood City, CA, USA
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be ready to travel to China frequently
• Will report directly to the Assistant General Manager
