MERIDIAN Technology Group seeks QA Release Manager JW7140 with at least 4 years of software release and configuration management experience. Must have experience and strong familiarity with major aspects of software lifecycles including, system development, quality assurance, deployment, configuration management, release management and change management methodologies and concepts. Project management techniques and tools with emphasis on project leadership and communication required. Familiarity with software configuration management tools such as ClearCase, PVCS, etc. also required History of driving and delivering results. Familiarity with project management and modeling tools (Visio, MS Project) desired. Familiarity with integration technologies and products (MQ, JMS, ESB, etc) and prior direct involvement with development, quality assurance or operational support activities also desired. ITIL certification preferred.
You will manage releases according to organizational guidelines through non-production environments into production. Work closely with operational readiness, development management and change management to ensure smooth transition and awareness of release prior to deployment. Coordination of testing the release and promotion process before changes are moved into production. Work with other release managers to align release schedules and resolve overlap. Facilitate the completion of all artifacts required for production deployment. Make recommendations regarding release quality based upon release criteria to the CAB. Work closely with infrastructure and quality assurance to formalize operational handoff expectations and ensure those criteria are integrated into environment promotion criteria. Work with QA leads and manager on assessing release quality. Drive and document configuration management strategy for packaging the release. Prepare release activity and status reports for dissemination. BS Computer Science or equivalent degree required.
