Description:
The Infrastructure Engineer 3 is accountable for planning, installation, support and management of the data technologies operating in corporate and data center environments. This position is responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of key business and operational systems including Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewall, Content Switches and LAN/WAN services. Responsibilities also include serving as a technical expert for network management, assisting with root case analysis and problem resolution, performing routine system maintenance, supporting the use of defined processes and procedures, coordinating technology infrastructure problem resolution activities including escalation to external suppliers when necessary, supporting the infrastructure and technology change control process, and working with key business partners to ensure the appropriate availability and performance for these systems. To be effective, candidates must utilize excellent interpersonal communication and project management skills to facilitate interactions within the organization. Individuals must have significant experience in developing strategies, selecting carriers and vendors, planning and engineering, procurement, creating requests for information proposals, as well as researching and developing new technologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years related network experience or 6+ years related network experience required. Basic professional Cisco certification(s) preferred. Data Services (Strong Cisco Router, switch and Content Switch experience as well as solid working knowledge of Firewalls and VPN Concentrators). Analog and digital technologies (T1, DS3, OC3, Frame Relay, ISDN PRI, SS7). Routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP). Experience with DNS, DHCP, TCPIP and packet analysis as well as system monitoring (Wireshark, NetScout, Ciscoworks, syslog). Strong understanding of network security principles. Development, implementation and life cycles (Requirements Analysis, staging, testing and maintenance cycles). Preferred familiarity with Voice Services (Voice over IP, Avaya S8700, Avaya Intuity, Intervoice IVR, CMS, CTI, TFN Management, Toll Fraud, ACD Design, Call Accounting, Contact Center Applications). Operations and project management (ITIL, Remedy).
