Web Development Engineer
The group's function is to increase customer reach by innovating around customizations for users and providing relevant content. They are also a primary driver of search queries and strategic in terms of driving web traffic and are engaged in monetization via advertising revenue.
The candidate will be responsible for development work on projects in the online network portal team. The projects include work on existing and/or new Web Services to provide relevant data/services to world wide customers via the portal sites and enhancements/integration on the front end side. Specific daily/weekly tasks are to be determined based on business priorities and your particular strengths. This team is looking for somebody who is eager to work on end to end development (generalist). You will work on Web Services as well as front end work. You will be responsible for owning the problem, often times, more than just your assigned area and driving for results.
Required Skills for this Web Development Engineer - Level 3 includes the following:
* 4+ years of development experience is required.
* The ideal candidate will have strong C# skills (preferably with a background in C/C++).
* The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures.
* The candidate is expected to have flexibility and ability to work on both the Web Services as well as front end.
* The candidate must have strong problem solving skills, the ability to work independently as well as in a team, the ability to produce good quality code and a drive for results.
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Bonus Skills:
It would be nice if the candidate understands the challenges of building high performance, highly scalable web sites/web services and is well versed with ASP .NET, CSS, XSLT and JavaScript.
