CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Flint Energy Services Ltd is currently seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to be based in our Sherwood Park office. The primary role of this position is to provide the technical expertise and skills to modify systems.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
? Defining, developing, testing, analyzing and maintaining corporate business software programs and applications following defined standards;
? Researching, designing, documenting and modifying software specifications throughout the production life cycle;
? Gathering user requirement for development and modification;
? Developing and maintaining documentation;
? Training end users to operate new or modified programs;
? Generate statistics on the programming process;
? Assisting with the enhancement of report writing standards and testing.
The following skills, experience, and qualifications are strongly encouraged:
? University degree with a focus in computer science, software engineering or information systems. Alternatively, college or technical institute diploma in computer systems or businesses with related experience. Other education backgrounds will be considered with additional work experience;
? 5+ years experience working in an IT shop with an emphasis in development;
? Strong understanding of software design principles and techniques including the use of modeling and design patterns;
? Extensive development experience using OOPS with Visual Studio 2005, .NET Framework 2.0, VB.Net, C# , ASP.Net, AJAX, XML, Windows and Web Services
? Extensive experience in methodologies such as SDLC, Agile, Waterfall
? Extensive relational database experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft Access 2005, SQL, Stored Procedures;
? Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues;
? Effective communication skills, ability to communicate with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams;
? Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans;
? Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies;
? Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws;
? Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills;
? Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
