5 month contract in Bloomfield, Connecticut
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES
This position is responsible for the implementation and support of application development projects originating from detailed project requirements.
* Design - based on requirement definitions, produce standardized, detailed technical specifications.
* Construction - work in a team environment to implement projects using tools such as: Visual Studio.NET, SQL Query Analyzer, NUnit, and Visual Source Safe.
* Unit Testing - produce unit test plans to demonstrate understanding of the required results and test individual projects. Develop integrated automated unit tests.
* Project Delivery - work within time constraints to meet deadlines. Identify and communicate issues with project deliveries.
* Application Support - provide 3rd level support for business applications. Effectively communicate with all stakeholders to answer questions and resolve urgent requests
SKILLS
5+ years experience with the following: C# or VB.Net; Microsoft SQL Server; Microsoft TSQL; Pattern based development concepts; Developing reports using Microsoft technologies; VSS; ASP.NET; HTML; XML; JavaScript
* Experience with .Net framework 3.x technologies such as WF, WCF and WPF a plus
* Experience with SharePoint integrations a plus
* Experience with test and build automation a plus
* Experience with Microsoft reporting technologies a plus
* Experience with external system integrations including mainframe / DB2 a plus
* Experience converting VB6, Classic ASP, and Microsoft Access technologies to .Net a plus
Other Requirements:
* 8+ years of development work experience.
* Able to demonstrate software development capabilities
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Excellent problem-solving skills.
* Ability to take ownership of work assignments.
* Ability to work with project manager and business analyst to accomplish tasks.
* Ability to work on multiple projects.

Bachlors Degree
