The Health Solutions Group is a startup business group within Microsoft offering innovative software solutions for the healthcare industry. Applications Consultants will be part of a team responsible for driving successful deployments of our new enterprise healthcare systems. You will work directly with our customers to help them build, configure, test and deploy world class systems solutions that could ultimately help save lives and improve the quality of patient care around the world. The ideal candidate is a self-confident, well spoken, hard working and highly organized professional, who has solid skills and experience in building relationships with customers and partners. He/she is driven to take ownership of a project and has sufficient interpersonal and technical skills to be able to take the project through all phases of the project.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Work with Healthcare IT users (for example, nurses, physicians, department chairs, administrators) to design solutions for the effective application of Amalga to solve information management problems within the implementation scope
• Write comprehensive specifications for the identified applications during the design phase
• Create application prototypes using tools inherent in the Amalga system
• Iteratively build and configure end to end Amalga applications which may include user views, reports, input screens, and bar-coded forms
• Train customer project team resources on how to build and configure user views, reports, input screens, and bar-coded forms in Amalga (knowledge transfer throughout course of deployment)
• Assist customer in the deployment of applications (including end-user training)
• Configure the Amalga components for customer-specific data using tools inherent in the Amalga system
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our implementation processes.
• Provide input to the development team on product enhancements/features
Skills required:
Ideal candidates will have the following knowledge, qualifications, and experience:
• At least 4 years of IT systems configuration and implementation experience
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to evaluate end-user business needs and translate them into technical requirements, then develop and implement the appropriate technical solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high intensity start up environment
• Scripting experience with C# and VB
• Strong knowledge of SQL database structures and queries
• 30-50% travel, may include international
• Bachelor's degree required
• Experience with clinical environments, enterprise software in the healthcare industry, and hospital information systems
• Ability to work well in a start-up environment
