As Technical Consultant within the Professional Services practice you will play a key role in the successful implementation of Click Commerce's enterprise software. As a Technical Consultant you will be engaged in a significant amount of day-to-day client interaction and technical activities. You will drive the delivery of the CSM (Contract and Service Management) application to large enterprise clients from pre-sales through requirements definition, design, installation, configuration, integration, testing, and transition to the client-operating environment.
As a representative of Click Commerce, you will need to possess high business and personal integrity and excellent judgment. This position reports to our Senior Technical Manager within our Professional Services practice.
Responsibilities:
Conduct Requirements Analysis sessions in order to successfully configure CSM enterprise software to meet client needs.
Develop thorough and comprehensive requirements documentation that can be used for configuration and scope management.
Work with Product and Engineering groups to develop any customizations necessary and to resolve product and technical issues.
Work closely with the Project Manager to rapidly move client through implementation cycles and manage all risks/issues.
Leverage and continue to develop Click Commerce's implementation methodologies and tools sets prom pre-sales through to requirements definition, design, installation, configuration, integration, testing and transition to the client
Interface with third party implementation organizations as needed to seamlessly deliver projects.
Actively report product feature requirements and competitive information to responsible Click Commerce teams.
Report project status, and issues at weekly team meetings.
Responsible for implementation quality and success.
Responsible for client satisfaction and delivery of value
Professionally and successfully present Click Commerce to client accounts.
The position will be based in Chicago. Travel may be required to client sites
Skills and Experience
A good balance of hands-on technical and business consulting skills, preferably based on 4+ years of IT consulting with a professional services firm (e.g. Big 5 consulting firm) or implementation arm of enterprise software company (e.g. PeopleSoft, Ariba)
Hands-on experience with Requirements Analysis, Requirements documentation and Scope Management.
Must have experience interfacing with product management and application development functions.
Ability to successfully conduct client meetings, presentations and product demonstrations.
Experience working with business and IT enterprise clients.
The following are required technical experience:
Two years of writing high performance SQL
Four years of Java development
Two year of XML development
Application setup and deployment
Experience with Weblogic, Apache and Oracle
Data setup, conversation, loading and testing techniques
Data and process modeling
Knowledge of Design Patterns
Structured requirements, data and business process modeling experience
Some exposure to reporting tools (e.g. Actuate, Crystal Reports)
Experience in administering and configuring one or more enterprise packaging applications
eProcurement, Financial and HRMS package systems experience preferred
