Creative Designer
The Creative Designer analyzes the design and branding needs to create an engaging user experience that fits the client's requirements. The Creative Designer articulates proposed designs to the client and facilitates the iterative process with the goal of a look and feel that works with and extends the client's brand. The Creative Designer defines the plans and frameworks for user experiences that are visually pleasing and engaging.
This position is responsible for creating the overall look and feel for websites and applications. The Creative Designer must possess an advanced level of design acumen, and be knowledgeable in brand expression, visual design concepts, and interactive technologies.
The Creative Designer reports to the User Experience Practice Manager.
Responsibilities
Show proficiency in Creative Designer responsibilities:
• Gather and document client branding and design requirements
• Review detailed wireframes and sitemaps
• Analyze branding objectives and user needs
• Produce comprehensive high level and detailed creative briefs
• Create engaging first and second level mockups for client review
• Present creative briefs and mockups to the client
• Facilitate collaborative meetings and deliverable reviews
• Engage in focus groups
• Volunteer ways to further assist project team and peers
• Adopt speakTECH processes, systems, and deliverable standards
• Collaborate with partners/vendors to define impact to project requirements
• Simultaneously work on 4-5 and/or more complex client engagements
Additional responsibilities of the Senior Creative Designer:
• Participate in new business pitches for creative direction
• Define and execute creative design work sessions
• Develop best practices for creative briefs and design guides
• Guide research for areas of leadership
• Propose innovative solutions
Recommended Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Art, Design, Multimedia or other related field, or other comparable experience.
Required Experience
• 2 to 7 years of design with a focus on the internet and/or software based technologies
• Demonstrate ability to create engaging and interesting site and application designs
• Demonstrate knowledge of brand building and development
• Demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills
• Conversant with usability best practices
• Conversant with development technologies
• Conversant with content management
• Professional and diplomatic
• Ability to learn and adapt new ideas
• Attention to detail and high standard of quality
• Strong written, interpersonal and business communication skills
• Strong time-management and work prioritization skills
• Proficient use of Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks, Adobe Flash, Adobe InDesign and Microsoft SharePoint
