Data Warehouse Consultants (www.dwconsultants.com) is seeking a DBA Manager for a position in Pittsburgh, PA.
Responsibilities:
• Directly supervise a team of database administrators in accordance with the organization's policies and goals
• Oversee the completion of projects including planning; assigning, monitoring, reviewing progress, and evaluating results
• Develop and document standards and procedures for the monitoring and maintenance of databases
• Ensures effective flow of communication between the DBA team, customers, and management
Required Skills:
• 5+ years experience with relational database administration (Oracle, SQL and/or DB2)
• 3+ years experience as a team lead or project manager
• Understands complex and advanced database concepts
• Considers business aspects of problems, and recognizes opportunities for expanding business services
• Ability to perform complex DBA tasks (e.g.: create databases using complex structures; ensure data security and integrity; generate complex database migrations)
• Ability to write complex UNIX scripts and has an understanding of the UNIX architecture
• Must be proactive and preventive in problem solving
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• BS degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience
