This is an opportunity to play a key role and assist in rebuilding a world class website. The Sr. Web Developer is a multi-dimensional one with responsibilities that range from front-end development, flash, flex and the mentoring of other individuals on the team. This role will have worldwide visibility.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, self-motivated and flexible engineer with a web development background, who has a broad range of skills including the ability to work at the UI or infrastructure level, is passionate about user experience and can engineer commercial quality web products.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
• 4+ years experience in front end web development PHP experience
• Understanding of web technology frameworks -- ORM, MVC, caching architectures
• Working knowledge of a PHP framework such as Cake, Symfony, CodeIgniter, etc?
• 1 -- 2 years of ActionScript 2 or 3 preferably 3
• 2+ years of Adobe Flash Development
• 5+ years experience with hands on working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DHTML and AJAX
• 4+ years experience in web-related and client-server / web service application development
• Some experience with command line UNIX is preferred
• 2+ years working with dynamic programming such as JAVA, PHP, Ruby of Rails, .NET although open-source technologies are preferred
• Strong understanding of version control techniques (Subversion, CVS, etc.)
• Bachelor degree in a relevant field
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Working closely with the Design agency and ensuring the code is completed to specifications.
• Responsible for design, development and front-end testing utilizing ActionScript 3, AJAX, CSS, HTML and DHTML
• Support, maintain and enhance daily production processes
• Position will require daily interaction with the business, editorial, production, marketing, design and development business units within the EA online team
• Responsible for working with PSD files and building HTML pages using the proper front-end web technology
