DUTIES: You will be responsible for: (1) Designing, analyzing, evaluating, capacity planning, procuring, installing, configuring, testing, maintaining and/or documenting corporate IT server systems and related equipment, including server hardware, software, and connectivity devices in accordance with established procedures and security needs, with a specific focus on VMWare and Microsoft Windows clustering; (2) Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software problems on file servers, application servers, and infrastructure systems, using a variety of specialized diagnostic tools and equipment, as needed; (3) Administration and maintenance of the Active Directory network infrastructure and associated services and applications; (4) Maintaining, enforcing and suggesting network security principals, policies and authentication; (5) Coordinating and performing upgrades to existing server systems, and other network or related equipment and software to prevent obsolescence; (6) Staging and configuring of equipment, as required, for integration into the network, including servers and related devices; (7) Providing technical advice to other technical staff and department members; (8) Assisting with implementation and management of disaster and data recovery, including file backup, restoration, and disk imaging; (9) Preparing, writing, reviewing, testing, and maintaining operational procedures and other related technical materials.

REQUIRED:

***MUST have STRONG/CURRENT VMWare AND clustering experience.

Three years of STRONG/CURRENT LAN/WAN experience installing and supporting and maintaining MICROSOFT network operating system software (MUST have STRONG MS OS 2000 and 2003), server systems, application software, network systems and related services and hardware.

MUST have STRONG Active Directory experience.

MUST have a valid Illinois driver's license.

MUST have STRONG/CURRENT skills with TCP/IP, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP.

MUST have STRONG experience installing and maintaining network servers and operating systems.

MUST have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and be team player with examples of behavior.

Demonstrate initiative, motivation, dependability and professionalism.

Microsoft Windows/Active Directory network infrastructures.

Pluses: MCSE. MCSE: Messaging. MCSE: Security. MCDBA. Cisco Internetworking Certification. COMP/TIA or similar. Linux. Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer in Server 2003. VMWare ESX Server virtual host software. MAPI and Exchange 2003/2007 messaging systems and POP3, SMTP, and IMAP protocols.
