Description
We have an immediate opening for a permanent full time Developer with a minimum of 2-5 years continuous experience in developing a variety of software applications. This person will work on a team with the project lead to create, maintain and improve the current business applications.
Design and implement Java server side applications and periodically maintain existing applications written in Java. Create new rich Internet applications with Flex using Actionscript 3. The developer must be willing to work collaboratively with the development team as well as have the ability to work independently at times. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working on a number of projects at any given time.
Requirements
Must have:
1) Minimum 2 years continuous experience developing Java applications that are database driven.
2) Excellent communication skills. Must be willing to talk with users to gather requirements and communicate well with other developers.
3) Ability to provide input and technical direction to audiences that may have a varying level of technical expertise.
4) Experience with SQL and database schemas.
5) Experience using any Linux flavor.
6) A degree in Computer Science or related field.
7) Most importantly, the ability to learn quickly and a willingness to assist in a variety of technologies.
Experience in any of the following would be a plus:
a) Adobe Flex (Actionscript 3)
b) EDI
c) Experience with deploying applications to a servlet container or application server such as Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, or equivalent
d) Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
e) iBATIS, alternately, experience with Hibernate, JDO, or JPA would be helpful
f) Eclipse IDE
g) General experience using open source tools
h) Oracle and MS SQL Server
i) Oracle Transportation Management (GLOG)
