As a Ecommerce Engineering Manager, based in our Mountain View, CA headquarters, you will provide technical architecture and project management leadership to a smart group of engineers while delivering quality and timely releases for our online retail shop. Your comfort and dexterity with LAMP (PHP, MySQL, Apache, Linux) and the software development process will allow you to hit the ground running as you start the planning for new architectural projects. Reporting to the VP of Engineering you will lead a team of 4-5 front-end and back-end LAMP developers while providing hands-on design and development, which will account for approximately 50% of your time. Immediately we will look to you to move the needle, and proactively identify areas to make change. Over time your success will be determined by your ability to work within a Scrum development environment delivering projects on time and on budget, while balancing the architectural technology needs with business needs keeping in mind top line revenue. Projects on the horizon include the re-architecting of our infrastructure using Web Services that will allow for further scalability and the addition of new verticals, and the incorporation of Web 2.0 social networking models to improve the online experience of our users in terms of they interact, create, purchase and send our offerings to their contacts.
