The Opportunity

Title: Director, QA Release & Support
Reports to: VP, QA Release
Location: Wichita, KS
Relocation assistance: Yes

NOTE: Our strong preference is to hire an individual in Wichita, but we may consider candidates who would not want to relocate but could commute to the office from another home base.

This position provides technology leadership and vision to the Tax and Accounting Software QA organization, establishing short- and long-term goals, standards and processes. Responsible for directing all test planning and test execution activities with the Tax Platform Enhancement Project program.

Key areas of oversight include:

• Business analysis and product design -- test planning for alpha, beta & production
• Test execution with primary focus on offshore and automation
• Build and release
• Trace ability planning & execution
• Management of onshore and offshore Tax Platform Enhancement Project resources
• Management of offshore vendor relations


The successful hire will be expected to:

• Deliver the Tax Platform Enhancement Project program, including all planning and phases subsequent to the initial launch.

• Evaluate and implement advanced QA testing methodologies

• Identify and drive training needs to keep skill sets current with company's technology direction

• Promote Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) advancement and methodologies

• Create and manage to the overall annual budgets of the Tax Platform Enhancement Project QA & Release organization

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years experience in software QA testing and automation, at least two of which are in a management capacity, including offshore resources

• Demonstrated passion for creating, implementing and driving innovative and world class QA methodologies

• Sound understanding of computer technology and architecture

• Thorough knowledge of Internet application development. Programming experience preferred.

• Experience migrating large scale applications from software to the Internet and/or extensive experience in large scale software development projects

• Knowledgeable in lean and agile development processes certifiable through CMMI compliance

• Skilled in planning, project management, communication and leadership

• Ability to work a flexible schedule as required, including some travel

• Experience in Accounting field strongly preferred

• BS degree in business or computer science technology or equivalent work experience
