We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Support Software Engineer in our Technology Department to join the team at our Burbank, CA studio.
The Production Support Software Engineer will be responsible for the customization and on going administration of our production tracking system (GDI Explorer) in support of traditional animation feature film production. The Production Support Software Engineer will interface with Production Management to gather requirements and write software to generate reports, set up queries, update pipelines, troubleshoot problems and make other changes to our production tracking database (GDI Explorer) as requested.
Responsibilities:
• Customize and administer production tracking system (GDI Explorer), including its user interface and database.
• Interface with Production Management, gather feedback and requirements, analyze problems, and propose and implement solutions
• Write code to generate reports and implement new features.
• Set up queries and update pipelines
• Support and debug existing and new features
Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years experience in database driven application support and development, especially production tracking or project scheduling software solutions
• Knowledge of Java, JavaScript and SQL databases
• Experience developing in Mac and Linux environments
• Ability in Python and UNIX shell scripting a plus
• Strong communication and documentation skills and attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with a non-technical user base, interpret requirements and suggest and anticipate solutions
• Understanding of traditional animation production processes and workflow is highly desired
• Knowledge of ToonBoom a plus
