Simply put, Whitecanvas is an online social networking platform designed for anyone in the world who enjoys art, music, fashion, photography, etc.   Founded and run by artists, our goal is to help elevate the works of aspiring and professional artists alike. Users will be able to network, create and share portfolios featuring their own work in a variety of media, participate in collaborative projects, and enjoy exclusive Whitecanvas content showcasing artists across the globe.

Currently, Whitecanvas is in need of a Unix Administrator who will be very dedicated and passionate about helping our creative lifestyle brand grow and succeed.

Prospective candidates must know Solaris, Shell Scripting, Memcash, Nginx, MySQL, Capistrana, DNS, CDN, and Cloud Computing.

In addition, prospective candidates should be very familiar with popular and niche social networking features on the Internet today. It would also be a big plus to be a creative and become an active contributor to the whitecanvas community.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE: Advanced Systems Administrator capabilities with 5 (five) or more years of professional knowledge and experience in the following areas:
·         Technical knowledge and familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures to successfully apply systems administrative activities, or execute special projects, specifically within Solaris UNIX Systems environments; and
·         Systems Administrator capabilities and knowledge in order to successfully plan and accomplish goals and perform a variety of complicated systems administrator duties within the Solaris UNIX Systems environment.
·         Knowledge of Shell Scripting, Memcash, MySQL, Capistrana, DNS, CDN, and Cloud Computing.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Must have skills and experience in all of the following areas:
·         Technical skills related to performing administrative activities within Solaris UNIX computing environments.
·         Technical skills and abilities working with Solaris UNIX Systems and related software installations and maintenance.
·         Technical skills and capabilities to assist in configuring and maintaining highly scalable and high availability environments.
·         Professional skills and experience monitoring, measuring and improving system availability, performance and utilization within Solaris UNIX computing environments.
·         Technical skills and experience working to develop and implement a variety of systems related technical solutions in response to customer or organizational needs.
·         Knowledge of providing middleware in support of Nginx web based processing.
