Position: Project Manager
The Role:
We're looking for some technical project managers to join our product development team. We're a fast paced company with lots of change, so if you are a self starter who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, you'll enjoy the opportunity.
You'll be working with development teams who use Agile development methodologies so you need to be comfortable working with code that is often in flux and be able to facilitate the generation of detailed requirements from a high level need.
Our team loves to get their work in the hands of customers every day. In this role you will be the project manager for multiple projects consisting of cross-functional development teams. With support from the development director - you will manage, facilitate and coordinate iterations and releases of a set of Kaboose Web applications. You will work with development teams, business partners and management. An important part of your job will be to help develop detailed estimates and specifications in partnership with colleagues in other business units and then work with developers to break them into development tasks. You'll be responsible for creating and maintaining iterative project plans and communicating progress status throughout the business. You'll actively manage issues and craft plans to mitigate risks. You have complete end-to-end responsibility starting with working with business partners and management to scope and define project proposals at the pre-approval/pre-prioritized stage all the way through one or more design and implementation iterations, and through to post-launch planning and execution with functions such as marketing and sales, then to hand-over to business operations and IT to run and maintain. Project management is a critical and highly-respected role at Kaboose.
Experience and Qualifications:
• You are a skilled project manager with a minimum of 4 years software development experience
• You are experienced with one or more Agile and Iterative development methodologies
• You are an excellent communicator both verbally and written
• You have strong interpersonal skills and can work well with all types of people
• You have experience in a highly-entrepreneurial environment
• You have experience coordinating multiple business functions (including Sales, Marketing, Finance, etc.)
• Experience working with multiple remote offices is an asset
• You understand major consumer Internet trends and patterns
• You possess a sound understanding of Internet best-practices such as Web 2.0, SEO
• You understand the fundamentals of Web programming such as PHP, Flash, JavaScript, Ajax, CSS, XHTML
• You are a driver and know how to lead and motivate teams
• You have a track-record of consistently delivering results
