Responsibilities:
The Developer III will design, code and maintain, mission critical applications. WatchGuard is beginning an aggressive campaign to redesign its technology infrastructure in support of our rapidly expanding product and service business units.
WatchGuard utilizes 3-tier technology architecture to deliver on-line services to customers and resellers including electronic store, customized security broadcasts, personalization, and customer support solutions.
-Design and program world-class on-line systems
-Assist business units by refining requirements in support of architectural and technical capabilities
-Lead development projects and mentor junior-level staff
-Define, document, and communicate technical and architectural requirements for current and next-generation systems
-Ability to create accurate resource estimates for development based activities
-Provide a variety of software development lifecycle activities including requirements definition, development, release, project management, configuration management, quality assurance, and application administration functions
-Assist in the creation of a new development methodology paradigm to more attentively focus on business needs through rapid development initiatives
-Assist in designing next-generation application architecture including business rule engines, content management systems, data analytics, and other progressive technologies
-Maintain accurate procedures and technical documentation
-Provide maintenance, and technical escalation assistance for tier 3 (development) problems

-Ability to effectively plan, document and implement technology solutions
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze business practices and define solutions to support business practices
-Working knowledge of standard project management methods and practices
Job Knowledge and Skills:
-Experience in product and software development industries is desirable
-Strong design and development experience with 3-tier application environments.
-Professional-level experience in development and architecture using Microsoft platforms:
-.NET framework (including ASP.NET, C#.NET, and ADO.NET)
-SQL Server (SSRS and SSIS)
-Content Management System
-SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
-Experience with SOA deployments including exposing and consuming Web Services (SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI) is highly desired
-Experience with MS BizTalk Server is highly desired
-Experience with MS Dynamics and/or MS CRM is highly desired
-Strong knowledge of Systems Development Lifecycle (SDL) and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) implementations.
-Demonstrated participation in Development Methodologies such as Test Driven Development (TDD), Agile, and Scrum.
Experience Level:
-7 plus years in development desired
-3 plus years experience designing application architectures
-Experience developing with Microsoft technologies
Working Conditions:
Project-driven work requirements with overtime as needed to meet deadlines. Office environment, minimal travel.
