POSITION PURPOSE:
The Web Developer plays a vital role at carbonhouse, inc. Position is responsible for developing and
implementing a wide range of complex computing applications. These applications will help carbonhouse
provide clients with increasingly advanced database design, e-commerce capabilities and interactive
solutions. The Web Developer is required to have a high degree of proficiency in a number of computing
platforms, programs and languages in order to complete projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Work with others to develop and implement proprietary content & data management systems
technologies into new and existing websites.
• Involved with implementing dynamic, data driven designs for new websites as well as existing
• Cross-browser and interface testing
• Troubleshooting & debugging Internet technologies
• Quality assurance testing experience
• Utilizing or building Content Management Systems
• Implement our products features into new and existing websites
• Develop improvements for existing processes
• Multitask between regular task requests, small projects and work as a team on larger projects
• Aid in conversion to newer technologies
• Work with all popular web browsers
• Technical writing & documentation
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
The Web Developer must possess expert understanding and application of the following
programs:
Microsoft Visual Studio or equivalent
HTML text editor
FTP software
Microsoft Access
Microsoft SQL Server
Server log file analysis software/Analytical Tools
Server-side security (e.g., SSL)
Javascript (working knowledge)
• Expert proficiency with the Windows operating environment (client and server side)
• Working knowledge of the Macintosh operating system
• At least 2 years of Web Developer experience including:
• BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
• 2 years minimum Web programming experience, including ASP .NET
• 1 year minimum experience working with SQL database systems
• Experience with interactive marketing firm a plus.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to identify opportunities and creative solutions.
