Our client is a successful proprietary trading firm and market maker in need of a Senior UNIX Engineer. The right candidate will assist in the day to day operation, implementation and maintenance of all existing and future UNIX related technologies. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to be a hands on problem solver interested in working with cutting edge technologies and supporting trading applications.
Your duties will include:
- Configure, install and maintain current and new UNIX software on the front and back end
- Serve as the support engineer for UNIX applications
- Troubleshoot, solve and track issues as they happen and provide feedback and reporting to the trading staff
- Maintenance and system administration of the UNIX environment
- Design, configuration, and maintenance of hardware
Does your past include:
- At least 5 years experience in UNIX/Linux System Administration working in a trading environment supporting trading applications
- Strong scripting experience (Perl, Shell, Python, etc)
- Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Familiarity with DNS/LDAP and SNMP
- Bachelor's in CS/Physics/EE or similar
