Oracle/JAVA Application Developer
Skills:
Junior level skills in Oracle PL/SQ., SQL*Plus and Oracle forms. Experience developing Oracle based applications with Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports and PL/SQL.
Description:
Responsible for the design, development, testing & deployment of Java/J2EE and Oracle Client/Server and Web-enabled based applications.
Oracle RDBMS, Oracle development tools knowledge, and general programming and systems analysis skills required to assist in the maintenance of existing application.
Interaction with the business & user community to gather and validate business requirements and business rules.
Intermediate level knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC), Object-Oriented analysis and development with UML, and some current project management principles and techniques in a Service Oriented environment.
Summary of Responsibilities
* Ensure that only authorized application development methodologies and standards are utilized when developing new application products or when maintaining existing applications.
* Be able to work in a team on projects and tasks, and use an established project management tool such as MS Projects to track and manage each task and project.
* Coordinate analytical business functions, discovering business rules and ensuring that they are handled appropriately by the business applications.
* Ensure that all consolidated operation application modules with which the incumbent is associated is functional, thoroughly tested & up-to-date.
* Provide general assistance and mentoring in other areas of application development.
* Apply Oracle RDBMS and development tools to ensure structured application development and maintenance
* Create and maintain solutions in Java, J2EE, Web services, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL*Plus & Oracle Forms
Education/Experience/Other Requirements
* 4-year College degree in Computer Sciences or related field.
* Demonstrated programming, systems and business analysis skills.
* Junior to mid-level skills in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL*Plus & Oracle Forms.
* Experience developing Oracle based applications with Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and PL/SQL.
* Experience involving DML, DLL, SQL PLUS, database triggers
* Must have a wide range of Java skills, including 2-4 years of experience using Java in most of the following areas:
* Knowledge of SOA & Web Services Technologies * SOAP, WSDL, XSD, WS-Security
*Minimum 2 years experience in server-side programming using J2EE technologies * preferably Oracle 9iAS or Oracle 10gAS.
* Minimum 2 years experience in design, development and delivery of web-based user interfaces, using most of the following; HTML, JavaScript, JSP, Struts (preferred) and Servlets.
* Must have experience with designing and integrating Java with relational databases.
* Must have experience with Ant based Java application build and deployment automation.
* Must have experience using the Eclipse/JDeveloper IDE.
* Must have automation testing experience - Test-driven development, Unit testing using Junit, System integration testing
*Prefer experience with Java Object Relational mapping using Hibernate or TopLink.
*Prefer experience with the latest Java technologies including JDK 5.0 generics and annotations.
* Prefer experience with SWING, AWT or other desktop Java application user interface development
* Knowledge of Unix Shell scripting language in the 60% percentile.
