We are looking for an exceptionally intelligent, talented and enthusiastic Web Developer to help build out the Publishing Team's suite of content-rich online properties. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the major responsibilities of the PHP Developer will be:
-- Working closely with the Technical Manager and Web Producer to create, redesign, and maintain websites
-- Working alongside a team of web developers to design, develop, and debug web applications
-- Using creativity to innovate new products (widgets, wizards, tools, controls) to enhance web user experience
Technical Requirements

-- Expertise in working with PHP and MySQL
-- Proficiency with front-end scripting including: HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX
-- Experience slicing and optimizing GIF and JPG images for the web
-- Experience building database-driven web applications and websites
-- Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing (SEM)
-- Familiarity with the LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
-- Familiarity with the CodeIgniter MVC for PHP is a plus
General Requirements

-- 1+ years professional web development experience
-- CS or technical degree preferred
-- Solid coding habits -- we expect clean, well-commented, easy-to-read code that works across all target browsers
-- Ability to work with minimal to no supervision, and to prioritize appropriately in order to deliver projects on time
-- Strong collaboration skills, enabling effective interaction and knowledge transfer to teammates
-- Positive attitude and professionalism in the workplace
-- Unrestricted legal authorization to work directly for any company in the U.S.
-- A great sense of humor is always appreciated
