** 3-6 Month Contract Position**
Supporting a Global Environment (currently at 2000 IP Phones; growing to 9000)
Senior Level in regards to Call Manager, Unity
Currently a mixed IPT and Nortel PBX environment
Well versed in dial plans, VG224 configurations, SIP trunking/signaling
Essential Functions:
Networking debugging at the level of a CCIE
Use of various Network Management Applications initially at a Senior Network Engineer level (Tivoli Network Manager, CA eHealth, Fluke Netflow Tracker, Opsware, AppCritical, Route Explorer)
Capacity planning for LAN & WAN
Handling Tier-3 Networking issues/requests within Remedy, and taking escalations as needed.
Configuration of networking gear for Tier 1-5 offices
Expertise in cabling technologies (Category 5/6, Single-mode Fiber, Multi-mode fiber, patch panels)
Reviewing network statistics and metrics of the enterprise network
Producing standard scripts (PERL, C, SH ?) to help out with continuing tasks which can be utilized by others within Operations
Setting Networking standards to be used globally (IOS, Tiered offices, HW refreshes?) by working in conjunction with the Architecture/Engineering group.
Attend Architecture/Engineering meetings as appropriate to ensure proper handoff to Operations in regards to various services.
Isolating and developing plans to rectify chronic problems with the global team
Creating and running compliancy reports via Opsware to ensure our global standards are met
Opening up tickets with various carriers when global circuits are reflecting issues and following through
Maintaining SOX Compliancy
Following the ITIL Best Practices for Change, Problem, and Incident Management
Networking Requirements:
CCIE/CCIP Certification is a plus but is not required however the successful candidate must exhibit a knowledge base consistent with this level
Experience in LAN/WAN/Firewall design/implementation/management/operations
ITIL Foundation V2 or V3 Certification a plus
A solid knowledgebase of Networking (TCP/IP, QoS, VPN, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP)
A solid understanding of LAN/WAN Technologies.
Experience with application load balancers including CSM, CSS, and F5
Senior-level knowledge of Cisco HW (series 1800, 2800, 3800, 4000, 6500, 7600?)
Packet Analysis and debugging a must (Finisar, Clearsight, Ethereal, tcpdump?)
Senior-level knowledge of Visio
Mid-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Senior-level knowledge and use of Network Mgmt platforms for debugging and proactive management
Data network technologies
Experience with process improvement and the ability to formally document processes and procedures
Ability to work with outside vendors in a collaborative environment
