Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer, who will specialize in multiplayer techniques, Internet programming, and cutting edge real-time distributed simulation, to directly impact both current and next generation titles. You will be instrumental in re-defining and architecting multiplayer technology for Next Gen platforms (Xbox 360, Playstation 3, etc). You will partner directly with engineering to design, develop, and document the highest quality network multiplayer engine and gameplay for the next 5 years.

Responsibilities:
Design, define and develop the next generation of multiplayer Internet gameplay and engine, on top of multiple platforms.
Provide “hands-on” technical expertise to define and develop networked simulation techniques and to have a direct impact on bleeding edge multiplayer gameplay.
Collaborate with senior designers and the studio's central technology team to define state-of-the-art Internet gameplay, robust multiplayer technologies, and to drive adoption for next generation game titles.
Interact with on site and off site network game experts to effectively plan, share and advance multiplayer development across EA studios worldwide.
Communicate accurate information, actions and decisions to game teams, project leads, studio management, and worldwide devrels group.


Qualifications

Expert C++ Programmer.
Prior network multiplayer development work experience on FPS, RPG, and/or RTS games, especially in developing multiplayer anti-cheat (or cheat!) mechanisms
Network gaming algorithms expertise, most notably in bandwidth optimization, distributed authority models and client prediction.
TCP/IP development experience (BSD sockets API, Internet protocols).

Familiarity with network tools (Ethereal, NIST Net, etc) is a plus.
Strong multithreaded/parallel simulation background is a plus
Renderware experience is a plus.
