The candidate will be responsible for Java application development (coding), maintenance, or extension of one of several Java applications. Many of these applications shall be developed and integrated under Java/XML-based J2EE application using Eclipse IDE with Struts, Tiles, Spring, Hibernate, LDAP, Apache Slide (WebDAV) and others that involve development associated with COTS/GOTS tool, webservices development using XML and the Oracle J2EE environment.
Lead, define, and executes software engineering activities within a project. Activities may consist of development planning, capacity planning, testing, validation, information engineering and development and staffing.
Experience with Open-Source Technologies, a plus (e.g.: Hibernate, Jakarta Commons, Spring Framework, HiveMind, JUnit, Eclipse, JMX); Strong knowledge of JBoss application server, a plus;
Basic Qualifications:
Candidates should have a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 5-years related experience.
Skills Required:
5 years of experience with hands on Software Development; Possess outstanding communication and leadership skills; Ability to perform any/all tasks within the software lifecycle (design, development, integration, unit/class testing, maintenance and documentation); Ability to function as part of a development team to include the use of a version control system.
Desired Skills:
Understanding of VA Vista Environment, Experience using VXML with interactive voice response system, Java Script, Struts Programming, WebDAV and LDAP; Experience with Web Service development and JBOSS development; Basic UNIX/Solaris and Windows system administration skills (e.g. loading software and creating accounts); Experience/Understanding with Eclipse, SQL with JDCB programming and image processing with JPEG formats; Experience/Understanding with SharePoint technologies
