Position Overview
Tests to ensure that developed products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards. Develops and applies customized test procedures for the organization's products. Communicates with product developers and technical support specialists on product issues. Works unsupervised on highly complex testing and provides technical leadership for large (5-8) team of experienced analysts.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs highly complex testing and debugging tasks according to QA process
- Plans, schedules and implements testing projects
- Designs and develops quality testing procedures; updates and modifies existing tests as necessary
- Defines test objectives and writes test cases and test plans
- Performs highly complex functional, application, regression and performance tests
- Plans and implements automated testing
- Assists product developers and technical product support specialists in solution of highly complex installation problems
- Provides comprehensive test coverage and test metrics for product releases
- Researches and develops an understanding of the marketing requirements for the produce, including how the product is actually used and what its performance requirements are
Education/Skills/Environment
- 7+ years
- MS or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking, test automation, knowledge of common scripting languages ( Perl, Python, or Lua), and product development
- Able to train other analysts in procedures
- Understands entire development process
- Familiar with relevant business issues as they impact overall project plans.
Working Conditions
Position primary works in office environment. Sitting for long period of time. Use of computer monitor and keyboard is required.
Travel Requirements
Coordination with off shore QA teams is required, so some travel may be required.
