Must have:
- Current 4-5 years experience HP/UX Installation, Administration and Support
- HP 9000/Itanium Class Server experience (PA-RISC Superdome, RP, RX Class)
- Current 3-4 years experience in Solaris 8, 9 Installation, Administration and Support
- Current experience in Solaris 8,9 OS Performance and Tuning
- Sun Enterprise Class Server (V2xx, V420, V440, V480, V490) Installation, configuration and support
- Current proven experience in Shell/Perl Scripting
- Current design, implementation and support of Server Backup , ideally utilizing Veritas Netbackup experience
- Current implementation and support of Enterprise SAN Disk Array and Fiber Switch Connectivity experience
- Disaster Recovery experience
- Teamwork Oriented
- Ability to work as a team and ability to follow standard processes and procedures.
- Clear and concise Verbal and Written communication skills
- Ability and flexibility to work nights, weekends and on-call. (Swing, Graveyard)
- Highly motivated to work in new technologies with limited direction required
Nice to have :
- Familiarity with Logical Volume Manager (for HP and Linux) and Veritas/Symantec Foundation Suite (Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster)
- LINUX Installation, Administration and Support
- SAN Storage Administration
- LDAP Installation, Administration and Support
- Middleware Tools (MQ Series, Sunopsis, AI, GIS)
- Together with DBAs provide support for Oracle and Sybase databases
- Web Application Tools (Weblogic, Sun One Web Server, SunOne Directory Server(LDAP)
- Current design, implementation and support of Highly Available Server Environments utilizing clustering technologies Veritas Storage Foundation including Veritas Cluster Server and HP Service Guard
