Overview
TP Systems is currently seeking a Software Development Project Manager to work out of Burnaby, BC. This position would report to the Director, Solution Delivery and may require travel to the Victoria office one or two times a week.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a project plan and schedule.
Develop and maintain the project resource plan, issues log, change log.
Monitor and report progress to the Client Project Director and TP Project Management Office.
Review and accept deliverables from the project and take them through the approval process.
Manage issues related to scope; budget and resourcing that arise through the course of the project
Escalate issues as required to Client Project Director or TP Project Management Office.
Be accountable for conducting the project within the approved scope, timeline and budget.
Prepare project change controls, as required, and facilitate the approval process.
Assign work to TP team members
Conduct TP Team project status meetings
Monitor status and progress of TP Team deliverables
Provide written project status reports on a regular basis
Prepare project plans and estimates.
Lead Systems Analysts, Developers and QA Analysts in the interpretation of business requirements into functional designs and taking it through technical design, development and implementation.
Prepare project management deliverables including the WBS, schedule, task estimations, MS Project Plans, resource plan, budget, project plan and project charter, etc.
Maintain responsibility for review and approval of all project deliverables and for overall project delivery success ensuring solutions with high quality and high business benefit.
Liaise with the client for project reporting and status.
Plan, estimate, and provide day-to-day management, leadership and administration of projects of medium to large size, across full project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to internal project management methodology.
Proactively identify and manage project risks and resolve problems and issues by monitoring project schedules and tracking progress plans.
Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of formal project management methodologies, processes, and tools.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of management and participate as an effective manager.
Excellent knowledge and experience with all phases of SDLC, but specifically Analysis and Design, Development and Implementation.
Experience working with Public Sector.
Knowledge of industry frameworks and models such as CMMi, PMBOK, and ITIL.
Desirable Skills
Experience working with .Net Development teams.
Leading or Facilitation of Design sessions with clients.
Education and Certifications
Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Business or related field.
PMP Certification (Preferred)
