Search America, LLC is premiere executive search firm specializing in placing professionals with internet and emerging technology companies throughout the US and the Caribbean. Currently we are searching for a Product Manager for one of our exclusive clients. Our Client is an established but still growing company expanding at over 30% per year. They are extremely profitable, have never used VC or other outside funding, and their revenues exceeded $300 million last year. They are poised to quadruple in a few years with their expanding product lines and are looking for senior level technical professionals that can lead them in the right direction.
This newly created position is based in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.
SUMMARY
The Product Management team ensures that the company has the best product offerings by analyzing, positioning, packaging, and promoting their solutions. The team is responsible for the product throughout the execution cycle, and works closely with the engineering group to continuously improve systems, processes, and production.
Responsible for defining new product requirements as well as enhancements to existing products in accordance with Internet Marketing/ Advertising best practices and the Company's strategic revenue objectives, by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Establishes short and long term product goals and strategies.
- Builds and manages a product roadmap to support our goals and strategies.
- Initiates and prioritizes projects within engineering.
- Tracks product development.
- Develops product launch plans.
- Engages closely with the engineering team to help determine the best technical implementation methods and reasonable execution schedules.
- Leads Product Managers, Program Managers, Usability Specialist in the development and design of product / technical requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned that are within education and experience of the incumbent for the betterment of the company.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Proven leadership and management skills in the internet industry is required.
- Strong technical background is required with a MS/CS preferred. (This is NOT a marketing position.)
- Excellent organizational skills including ability to build effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated experience shipping products (concept to launch).
- Product Design and Product Management experience.
- Unique blend of business and technical savvy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate as a matrix manager, coordinating resources from multiple areas of the company.
- Project Management skills.
- Several years of experience managing product managers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in CS or business. MS CS or MBA preferred; and 5+ years of product management experience. The ideal candidate will come from a technology (versus marketing) background. Experience in the internet industry is required.
