Software Development Manager
Our client is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead all aspects of the software development. The Development Manager must also lead requirements gathering activities, product environment discussions, and participate actively in product development initiatives. The Development Manager will directly supervise internal resources and interface with members of the engineering staff at all levels.
Responsibilities
* Managing the development team in delivering software products on time, within budget and at the highest degree of quality.
* Direct engineers, providing strategy, vision, leadership, mentoring, and career development.
* Candidate must possess a strong command of requirements gathering.
* Must organize time effectively, attention to detail, and work under extreme deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Act as a bridge between the product management and business analysts to help capture requirements to staff, plan, and execute all aspects of application releases.
* Performance management will also be a key function of this role with utilization of verbal feedback and written performance review tools.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
* Minimum of 8+ years in a software development environment, preferably for a web-based enterprise-class software provider.
* Experience with large development projects and preferably a proven ability to motivate and lead team members.
* Drive to stay current on technology changes, directions, and new product offerings.
* Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and to manage their time and contacts effectively and efficiently.
* Full life cycle development methodology knowledge.
* Excellent verbal and writing skills.
