Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or directly related field or discipline.
Required Skills and Abilities:
* 5 - 8 years directly related work experience required. MAY accept advanced degree/education as equivalent for less experience.
* Power monitoring experience with computers.
* Experience with Utilities, Metering, and/or Networking (TCP/IP, Modbus, Multibus) required.
* Software and network configuration experience.
* Time and task management skills (e.g., Project Manager, Project Engineer).
* Must possess the ability to travel 75% of time.
* Strong trouble shooting skills.
* Strong interpersonal communication skill both written and verbal with ability to interface with customers at all levels.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
* Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
* Experience with Visual Basics
* Database experience (SQL preferred)
Applies acquired process/product/equipment knowledge based on current industry trends, competitive practices, performance, price and market position. Designs moderate hardware/software solutions as appropriate. Technical guidance to develop/improve distribution channels and associated vendors. Understands and applies safety procedures. Reviews/analyzes specification costs of installations to determine changes/revisions resulting in lower design/manufacturing costs and increase profitability. Proposes specific products and value engineering adaptations with cost-effective results, meeting customer needs. Consults with appropriate groups in preparation of proposals for complex domestic/international installations. Prepares explanation to enable proper interpretation/evaluation of specifications, performance characteristics, or other technical data.
Strong technical background in power management communication systems and related software. Thorough understanding of project accounting principles. Able to represent PDS independently at customers during solution sales, financial negotiation and technical coordination. EE or CS Degree preferred but will consider equivalent experience.
