Search America, LLC is premiere executive search firm specializing in placing executives with internet and emerging technology companies throughout the US and the Caribbean. Currently we are searching for a Project Manager for one of our exclusive clients. Our Client is an established but still growing internet marketing company expanding at over 30% per year. They are funded by their own profits and are poised to quadruple in a few years with their expanding product lines. Current revenues exceed $300 million per year.
This position is responsible for ensuring that functional requests from the business community are clearly understood, documented, planned, and implemented regarding software development projects by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Serves as key liaison between and primary contact for the business community and Technology organization.
- Manages communication and functionality expectations between the business community and the development team.
- Assists the Director, Project Management in the development and maintenance of an evolving project life cycle.
- Works with the business community (i.e. publishing, marketing, business development, operations, partners, fulfillment) to understand the current and future functional requirements for new features on web sites, email programs, reporting & metrics, order fulfillment & back office systems, and partner programs & integration.
- Identifies level of requirements needed for new requests (e.g. complete system specifications, abbreviated specification, and immediate action).
- Creates the required specifications with detailed logic behavior matrices for the functionality which also includes impacts on database, upstream/downstream functionality or systems, reporting, and interfaces/integration with other systems.
- Facilitates the business community in streamlining business processes when and where appropriate.
- Works with Software Development and QA to prepare reasonable timelines/work plans/delivery dates for current release.
- Works with development team to manage scope for releases and identifies functionality that can be safely expedited.
- Documents and publishes release notes for every software release (major and minor) at the time of delivery -- may delegate as appropriate.
- Keeps the functional requirements documents current and up-to-date.
- Monitors and prioritizes all ticket bugs.
- Coordinates efforts with QA to ensure early development of test scripts and database matrices using the functional requirements documents.
- Assists with testing as appropriate.
- Prepares end user documentation and conducts end user training when & where appropriate.
- Works closely with data center operations and development team to create complete operations checklists for software and data migration to staging and production environment prior to releasing new software.
- Conducts periodic project meetings with QA and software development to review status, progress, and issues.
- Conducts weekly checkpoint meetings with business community to review status, progress, issues and new requests.
- Obtains user sign-off on functional specs.
- Obtains user sign-off prior to product delivery for requests that require changes to screens and/or user experience (i.e., nothing should go live without user acceptance).
- Creates standards and templates for project management (requirements documents, workplans with common tasks, best practices).
- Conducts lessons learned to continually improve the development & delivery lifecycle.
- Other duties that are within education and experience or the incumbent may be assigned for the betterment of the company.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related field from four-year college or university; and minimum 10 yrs related experience.
