Candidates for this senior Oracle DBA assignment must have recent (within last year) production support experience with 24 x 7 on-call rotation supporting multiple size Oracle databases (from a few gigs up to several terabytes) on multiple versions of Oracle (9i and 10g) running on Solaris 8 or Solaris 10.
Candidate must have considerable experience with advanced replication solutions such as Oracle streams, PL/SQL tuning and trouble-shooting experience, primary to physical standby setup and failover experience, experience doing database upgrades from Oracle 9i to 10g, and experience writing shell scripts to automate monitoring and alerting/alarming, as well as experience with table space partition maintenance.
Position Description: Experience Level: 4 year degree plus 7-10 years experience. Description: Leads the design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's physical, relational, and object-oriented databases across multiple platforms and computing environments. Develops data architectures and database management policies and standards. Provides senior-level consulting services in the identification and resolution of database issues. Serve as a high-level resource on database management issues, and participate in the planning, design, and usage of data resources.
