This is a contract position with the possibility of contract-to-hire.
One of our regular clients, a software development firm, is in need of a mature and highly experienced technical writer to maintain their documentation following the departure of their full-time technical writer.
Legacy documentation is being ported from various formats (FrameMaker, RoboHelp, Word, PDF) into MadCap Flare.
Your immediate priorities will be to prevent any lull in the documentation process and maintain a strict sense of order to ensure the smoothest possible transition for the incoming staff writer.
A junior writer will be assigned to assist with content migration and reformatting under your direct supervision.
MINIMUM skill requirements:
No less than 3 consecutive years in a dedicated technical writing role.
No less than 2 years' experience developing online help systems.
Strong skills in MadCap Flare,
or a combination of RoboHelp plus
any of the following:
FrameMaker
HTML
XML
