SCM/Build Engineer
Location: Redwood City, CA
Salary: $95 -- 105K
Essential Functions
• Provide support to engineering teams for various projects
• Extend the configuration management (SCM) system for our development and production releases
• Work with Development and QA to maintain/optimize existing configuration management (SCM) processes.
• Enhance and maintain existing Build and Release tools to increase development/ QA productivity
• Implement various automated solutions via PERL, C, HTML and other languages/tools.
• Prioritize multiple tasks based on project urgency.
• Must be able to Document new and existing SCM processes/procedures
Job Specifications:
• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from four-year College or University
• Minimum Experience: 5+ years experience administering systems such as SVN/CVS or similar source code management
Required Experience:
• Extensive experience deploying builds to QA, Staging and Production systems
• Detailed knowledge managing multiple parallel projects, branching and merging etc...
• Deep understanding of software configuration management principles
• MUST HAVE proficiency with multi-platform (LINUX / UNIX Routers) build environments
• MUST HAVE proficiency in either C or C++ and have strong experience with Perl shell scripting
• Broad understanding of the programming structure (makefiles, headers, code) and compilation process (compile, link).
• Experience with CruiseControl is a plus, as is experience with installers such as NSIS, WiX or Visual Studio
