Data Warehouse Consultants ( www.dwconsultants.com ) is seeking a Web Analyst for a contract position located in Pittsburgh, PA.
Responsibilities:
• Understands general software development lifecycle and uses defined methodology to design, develop, test and implement solutions.
• Ability to apply advanced programming techniques to architect and design system solutions when presented with complex business problems. Provides direction and coaching to others in solving complex system problems.
• Draws on Web-based development tool knowledge to provide front line support for all areas of the Web services/eCommerce environment.
• Probes to identify problem details and documents resolutions into problem management system. Analyzes opportunities and develops business cases.
Independently recognizes, researches, and/or isolates problems, provides resolution and follow up.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 8+ years related experience and continued professional development OR 12+ years combination of post-secondary education and related experience with continued professional development
• 7+ years of professional web based application programming experience using VB/ASP.NET 1.1-2.0 and/or ColdFusion MX (background as a Technical Lead desired)
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on development experience with Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server. Solid understanding of stored procedures, triggers, database design and relational design
• Excellent understanding of web application architecture and design
• Understanding of structured software design methodologies
• Working knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis / Object Oriented Design methodologies and life cycles
• Understanding of XML/Web services
• Experience taking multiple legacy applications and rewriting them utilizing standard architectures and common code libraries
• Superior knowledge of HTML/DHTML/JavaScript/CSS/XML
• Understanding of IIS versions 5.0 & 6.0 running on Windows 2000 and 2003 Server
• Strong problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate technical issues and concepts clearly, both orally and in writing - frequent communication with non-technical people is necessary
• Experience in architecting and designing distributed middleware systems (background as a Technical Lead desired).
• Other Preferred skills: J2EE / Java EE technologies (specifically, Servlets, EJBs, JMS, and JDBC), SAP Net Weaver Suite (Application Server, Portal, Exchange Integration), AJAX
