Our client is looking for an experienced professional with experience in WMS Technical Support. This experience is relevant to one of my current openings.

This is a permanent position located in Dallas, TX

Position: Technical Support Consultant
Department: Global Support
Location: Dallas, Texas

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent field
• Requires three years of support experience
• Requires advanced problem solving skills
• Requires 3+ years experience Informix Programming and Informix Database Management
• Warehouse Management / Supply Chain Execution experience needed
• Requires competent knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems and hardware
• Requires competent knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle database management technology
• Requires competent knowledge of LAN's/WAN's
• Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Applications
• Requires written and oral communication skills to explain technical concepts and functionality of systems to non-technical customers
• Requires organizational skills to ensure the most effective and timely service is delivered to customers
• Requires decision-making ability to make procedural decisions
• Experience with Infor WMS 2000/SSA Global WMS/EXE Exceed 2000 preferred.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide courteous customer service in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with existing procedures.
• Provide customer support by responding to inquiries, interpreting queries and problems, examining data, error logs, utilizing all available support material and tools to successfully resolve the problem.
• Troubleshooting/debugging Informix 4GL code. Includes designing, coding and deploying code fixes to customer sites to resolve application problems that are received from customers.
• Resolve issues related to product technical capability and customer knowledge and ensure that the customer is utilizing appropriate processing procedures.
• Develop and maintain effective customer communications by managing the customer's expectations through use of negotiation, persuasion, diplomacy and clear communication, ensuring customer satisfaction and improvement in customer retention.
• Keep management informed of outstanding issues by preparing monthly/weekly status reports.
• Manage workload effectively and provide accurate accounting of work and time allocation.
