Mintec, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for the Mining Industry, is looking for a Release Coordinator who can take a lead role in the ongoing compilation, assembly and deployment of software written by the Software Development Team. This could be an intermediate to senior position, depending on your experience. It will appeal to self-starters who want to assume a key role in a dynamic and growing company.
Responsibilities:
a. Perform all duties required to build MineSight, our suite of programs for the Mining Industry, on a daily basis.
b. Take over the operation and maintenance of the version control system.
c. Develop, maintain and deploy software installation scripts.
d. Working with the Software Engineering department, take a lead role in releasing the system, including release of the system as a whole, as well as new and maintenance releases of individual products.
e. Work with Technical Support Engineers on product implementation scheme.
f. Perform other duties which may be required to support the release process.
Mandatory Qualifications:
a. Good understanding of the software release life cycle.
b. Experience with automated build processes and tools, such as NAnt.
c. Understanding of source control management, preferably cvs.
d. A good understanding of installation scripting tools, such as InstallShield and NSIS.
e. Good analytical thinker with proven problem solving skills.
f. Proactive, well organized and meticulous in all task areas.
g. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
a. Experience in a Windows software development environment.
b. Knowledge of the Python programming language.
Education/Experience:
a. University degree or College diploma with an Information Technology emphasis.
b. Previous experience in a Release Engineering or similar role is highly desirable; however, we may consider experience in another area of Software Engineering, together with a willingness to work in Release Engineering.
